For planning purposes, I have scheduled all our meetings virtually on the 1st Monday of each month from 7-8:30, followed my an in-person Parent Meetings (on the 1st Friday of the month) from 7-8pm except for March and July. I have March Parent Meeting scheduled for March 21 and July 11.
Also, please mark your calendar. We have our Financial Planning scheduled for October 19, 2025 at Rec 2 from 2-6pm. If need be, I’ll schedule mandatory virtual Parent Meetings prior to this date to gather volunteers for vacant positions. Please let me know if you have any reservations.

Aiea Loop Trail Hike will be happening this Sunday, January 19th from 9am to 12pm. If you are planning to attend the hike please RSVP by January 17th. The hike will be a good chance to hang out with your fellow Scouts to have fun and plus it will help you add another 5 miles to hiking to your totals. This will also be a good preparation if you intend to join us in our overnight backpacking hike for Peacock Flats later this summer!

In addition, we will be giving you an opportunity to complete the following requirements (depending on participation):

Second Class 3a – Demonstrate how a compass works and hot to orient a map. Use a map to point out and tell the meaning of 5 map symbols.
Second Class 4 – Identify or show evidence of 10 animals in your local area
First Class 5a – Identify or show evidence of 10 native plants

If you are intending to complete a requirement, please make sure you are prepared and bring your Scoutbook.

All Scouts attending the hike should bring at minimum 1.5 liters (51oz) of water, but it is recommended to bring around 2.5 liters, and be prepared with a rain jacket or poncho, along with their Class C uniform and hiking shoes. If you have a hiking pole or stick it is also highly recommended, but not mandatory.

If you would like to complete requirement Second Class 3a, it is recommended you bring a compass, as well as print out a map of the trail. We can provide maps and compasses as well, but they will be limited, so if you have a compass, please bring it.

Our monthly Service Project–#35 Mililani Mauka-Launani Valley Neighborhood Board (NHB) meeting flag ceremony presentation is on the third Tuesdays of the month. Service Patrol must arrive by 6:30 PM for rehearsal. Everyone in the Troop is invited to attend. All will receive one (1) service hour.

Schedule a Board of Review (BoR) no later than the Friday before the next BoR after all requirements have been signed off (including the Scoutmaster Conference). This can be done during a Troop meeting or verbally on the phone. No texting or emails. You may leave a voicemail. This will help the scouts to improve their verbal communication skills and association with adults. Proper phone etiquette must be observed (i.e. introducing oneself; calling between 6pm – 9pm, Monday – Friday). No BoR is conducted for Scout Rank. However, once your Scout has achieved Scout Rank the advancement chairs must be emailed to let them know.

Thank you to all who picked up their camp cards at the end of the Parent Meeting on 1/10. There are some who still need to pick up their cards so please see Jamie at the start of the Troop Meeting on 1/17. If you cant make, please call her to arrange to meet at 808-216-8085.
Troop 664, at minimum, conducts two annual fund-raising activities (Camp cards and BSA popcorn) which also supports the Aloha Council. Additional fundraisers are conducted as needed. The total of these fundraisers proceeds aim to cover the Troops operational cost for each Scout which ranges between $300 to $325 per Scout per year. To assure that the Troops operating costs are covered, the following are the minimum amount of fundraising that is required for each activity:
Camp Cards – $75 per year ($50 this year due to reduced cost per card)
BSA Popcorn or other Scout Snacks – $100 per year
Additional fundraiser(s) – amount to be determined.
If any Scout does not meet the required amount in mandatory fundraisers, the individual Scouts account will be charged accordingly (Troop 664 Policies and Procedures, p.21).

Hello everyone,
Lauren’s Eagle Project will be held at the James Campbell High School band room on Saturday, January 25 from 7:00am – 3:00pm. If possible, we will need around 4 adults and 12 scouts. Breakfast, lunch, refreshments, and drinks will be provided.
This project will consist of building two new instrument storage cabinets and repainting all of the existing instrument lockers in the band room. We will be meeting outside of the band room (K-Building).
Please make sure to wear your Class C uniform (troop activity shirt), bring a refillable water bottle, and wear covered shoes. All other gear will be provided.

What: Pearl City Lion’s Club Valentine’s Breakfast Service Opportunity

What: To help in preparation, serving and cleaning up for the Pearl City Lions Club Valentine’s Breakfast.

Scouts should be dressed in Class B uniform and come with a good attitude and willingness to help.

Hours can be also used for scouts currently working on the Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge.

Parking: NO ONE will be allowed to park in any of the cafeteria parking lots, except for the school’s cafeteria workers. The cafeteria parking lots are reserved for GUESTS with HANDICAP PARKING PLACARDS. Please park in the top parking lot, fronting the Administration Building.
Duties: Scouts will be assigned to one of four (4) duties: 1) Dining room condiments station (need 2 scouts); 2) Parking lot control; 3) Drive-thru/Takeout food distribution; or 4) Kitchen dishwashers (9:00am – 10:00am).

Scouting advancement occurs through a process where the Scout is Taught, Tested, Reviewed, and Recognized. The Court of Honor is the important event where Scouts are recognized for their achievements.
Rank patches are awarded in front of the entire Troop and their families during Court of Honor. Normally there are four Court of Honors throughout the year. These are major events to which the families of all Scouts are encouraged to come to support those who will be receiving an award. The atmosphere is more formal than regular Troop Meetings, and all of the Scouts attend in Class A Uniform. Here’s the Advancement Guide for more information. LINK to Advancement Guide

**NO TROOP MEETING** (Due to Camp)

Schedule a Board of Review (BoR) no later than the Friday before the next BoR after all requirements have been signed off (including the Scoutmaster Conference). This can be done during a Troop meeting or verbally on the phone. No texting or emails. You may leave a voicemail. This will help the scouts to improve their verbal communication skills and association with adults. Proper phone etiquette must be observed (i.e. introducing oneself; calling between 6pm – 9pm, Monday – Friday). No BoR is conducted for Scout Rank. However, once your Scout has achieved Scout Rank the advancement chairs must be emailed to let them know.

For planning purposes, I have scheduled all our meetings virtually on the 1st Monday of each month from 7-8:30, followed my an in-person Parent Meetings (on the 1st Friday of the month) from 7-8pm except for March and July. I have March Parent Meeting scheduled for March 21 and July 11.
Also, please mark your calendar. We have our Financial Planning scheduled for October 19, 2025 at Rec 2 from 2-6pm. If need be, I’ll schedule mandatory virtual Parent Meetings prior to this date to gather volunteers for vacant positions. Please let me know if you have any reservations.
